William Henry Van Pelt IV
Bill Van Pelt, IV provides strategic leadership to The Mid-Continent Companies, Ltd. In addition to board and management responsibilities, he continues to work directly with clients across the country. With 38 years of experience, he specializes in complex business and estate planning for owners of family-controlled private and public companies.
Bill is skilled at identifying underlying business, estate, people, and tax issues, anticipating their impact on companies and stakeholders, and designing strategies to address them proactively. He brings a deep understanding of financial concepts, strategies, and tools, applying them creatively to meet client needs.
Earlier in his career, Bill served as Chief Compliance Officer of the company’s broker-dealer, and he continues to contribute his expertise through service on the boards of leading companies in the financial services and marine products industries.
An avid outdoorsman and conservationist, Bill has participated in notable projects such as The High Lonesome Ranch, The High Lonesome Institute, and Deep Water Cay Club. Today, he remains engaged in initiatives that connect stewardship of the natural environment with outdoor lifestyles.
Bill graduated cum laude from Boston College’s School of Management Honors Program with dual degrees in accounting and finance. He holds Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant designations. He is a member of Young Presidents’ Organization, The C Club of Houston, Lochinvar Golf Club, and The Holland Society of New York. Bill resides in Houston with his wife and four children and is a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
